BI Developer - OBIEE Developer - Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Developer
Job Summary:
The BI Developer performs analyses on reporting requirements, participates in data acquisition and transformation delivery while providing oversight and technical checkpoints in order to enforce standards and quality solutions. In addition, the BI Developer defines reporting metadata, develops dashboards, and reports using Oracle Business Intelligence tools (OBIEE). The role requires the BI Developer to participate in enterprise projects including clarifying business needs and requirements, performing analysis, design, development, integration, and maintenance of OBIEE.
Core Responsibilities:
- Willingness to interact directly with the users to understand requirements, and assist in resolution of issues.
- Actively participate in design and analysis sessions with functional groups and Business Analysts to ensure flawless design.
- Develops complex, innovative, intuitive dashboards, and scorecards using the Oracle Business Intelligence suite (OBIEE).
- Designs and develops reporting metadata layer to support reporting initiatives and ad-hoc requests within established guidelines.
- Works with the DBA group, analyses and resolves root causes of slow running extracts, queries, dashboards or reports.
- Provides expertise in at least one functional area of technology and provides recommendations for new applications or application enhancements.
- Manages entire life cycle of most assigned projects.-Writes application codes, develops user interfaces, develops unit test cases and harnesses; Creates design, interface, system, and user documentation; tests software and interfaces, supports end to end and performance testing, and performs other tasks needed to complete projects.
- Assists in testing and troubleshooting hardware and applications to ensure integration with product deployments.
- Works with Business Partners when developing technical requirements and design.
- Develops deployment software and application administration software as well as Creates deployment and application support documentation.
- Works within project specifications to meet goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner; raises issues expediently that could impede the project specifications or timelines.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills
- Experience with data analysis, modeling, and design specific to a Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence environment including facilitating data model development, documentation, writing custom scripts and or code following best practices.
- Experience in developing reporting and metadata standards, such as names and descriptions.
- Experience with PL/SQL Developer Tools
- Solid knowledge of Oracle EBS R12 Financial modules (AP/PO/GL/Fixed Assets)
- Experience with OBIEE 11g
- Knowledge of OBIA 7.9.6.4 (preferred)
- Strong communication ability with technical and non-technical audiences.
