Test Manager - Functional Test Manager - Telco - Digital - ISTQB/ISEB
Responsibilities:
- Provides technical leadership and Subject Matter Expertise in functional testing
- Provides testing oversight, test execution status and defect tracking
- Prepare on overarching test strategy for the program
- Defining the scope of testing within the context of each release/delivery.
- Ensure the timely delivery of different testing milestones
- Prepares time and cost estimates, identifies and mitigates project risks, plans the full project life cycle and recommends approaches to improve time to market
- Review the documents - strategy/plan/deliverables in general being provided by all suppliers working on various test phases
- Manage various test phases - system testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing
- Track and prepare the report of testing activities like test testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status.
- Escalate the issues about project requirements (Software, Hardware, Resources) to Project Manager/Sr. Programme Test Manager.
- Attend the regular client call and discuss the weekly status with the client.
- Organize the status meetings and send the Status Report (Daily, Weekly etc.) to the Client
- Prepares/updates the metrics dashboard at the end of a phase or at the completion of project.
- Keep track of the new requirements/change in requirements of the Project.
- Participates in continuous improvement by contributing best practices, enforcing standards and improving processes
- Maintains relationships and collaborates with other domains including architecture, business analysis, infrastructure, quality control, and security
Skills and Experience:
- 10-12 years of functional testing experience with strong hands-on skills
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in test management
- Extensive experience in the following areas -
- Test management
- Defect Tracking & reporting
- Monitoring and reporting
- Test estimation & forecasting experience
- Should be ISTQB/ISEB certified
- Experience across various test phases - system testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing
- Experience in a wide variety of testing efforts, techniques and tools
- Experience in Telco domain and Digital projects will be desirable
- Should be able to articulate the status in both reporting format and to senior stakeholders to cover off the actual status and key risks and issues
- People skills, especially diplomacy and advocacy skills
- Planning and management skills
- Knowledge of the domain, system or application-under-test (desirable)
- Experience programming or managing programming teams (desirable)
- Solid knowledge on defect management tools Quality centre, JIRA.
- Flexibility, energy and ability to work well with others in a virtual, geographically dispersed team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to IT and business leader
- Demonstrated ability to stay current with testing(non-functional) best practices, existing and emerging technology platforms, and industry trends
