Scrum Master/ Project Manager

Responsibilities:

  1. Implementing Agile (Scrum) processes and methodologies and leveraging other Agile techniques
  2. Guiding the programme team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices
  3. Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
  4. Facilitating Scrum stand-up meetings across geographically distributed team (client location and offshore)
  5. Facilitating discussions, decision making and conflict resolution
  6. Implementing backlog tracking, burn-down & other metrics, velocity and task definition
  7. Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency and dissipating information
  8. Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and programme and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and programme
  9. Ensure relevant documentation is in place and to standard
  10. Hold regular status updates and prioritisation meetings with business owners and key stakeholders
  11. Bridge the gap between business owners and delivery teams to ensure functional developments meet requirements
  12. Manage dependencies with other areas
  13. Manage project risks and issues
  14. Help to define processes and best practice
  15. Manage relationship with third party suppliers for website, services and back end processes
  16. Ownership of the full project life cycle from initiation to requirements gathering, planning, testing, implementation and reporting

Required Skills/Experience:

  1. Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
  2. Experience of projects with geographically distributed team (client location and offshore)
  3. Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  4. Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques to fully realise the potential of Agile/Scrum frameworks(example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc)
  5. Experience in Project Management
  6. Solid Project Management experience in software development including different methodologies
  7. Experience of working on e-Commerce platforms
  8. Proven ability in supervising others
  9. Able to lead on complex projects, involving staff from across the organisation and staff from external agencies
  10. Ability to delegate tasks to the most appropriate person without negating responsibility for those tasks
  11. Continuous drive and tenacity to achieve results
  12. Advises and influences with depth of relevant specialist knowledge gained at management level and inspires confidence
  13. Exercises a high degree of independent judgement in dealing with internal and external organisations
  14. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  15. Demonstrates commercial awareness in an e-Commerce environment

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  1. Knowledge and experience of delivering java development projects
  2. Knowledge and experience of delivering e-Commerce project
  3. Knowledge and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing
  4. Experience as a project manager
  5.  Scrum Master certification
