Back End Developer - Java - Spring Web - REST - Oracle - Python - SCRUM
This role requires the experience and mind-set of a seasoned developer, together with the ability to work within an agile environment utilising a blend of methodologies such as Scrum, TDD and XP.
The successful candidate will have several years' experience developing and coding business rules processing solutions used in a 3 tier architecture. They should have a strong background in programming and should have been employed as a developer for at least the last 2 years.
Leading a culture of positive continuous improvement, your core tasks will include the writing and unit/integration testing code and involvement in architectural and design decisions. You and will need to input into estimation and planning meetings as well as provide expert consultancy to the rest of the development and business teams within.
To fulfil this role you will need:
Demonstrable experience of coding using the following technologies:
- Java (Strong)
- Spring Web (Strong)
- Spring Security
- Spring AOP
- REST (Strong)
- Oracle
- Python
It is desirable to have experience of the following:
- jBPM
- ActiveMQ
- SOAP/XML APIs
- JIRA
- Confluence
- Linux skills
- Performance analysis and testing (specifically for Java code and Oracle queries)
- Oracle optimisation (eg index creation to alleviate performance issues)
- A proven track record of delivering high quality code in an Scrum environment using XP or similar techniques
- A understanding of Prepay Networks and IT (preferably MVNE/O models)
- To be focussed on delivering quality of end code and driving continuous improvements in coding
- The ability to travel, often at short notice, within the UK and Europe.
