Senior Pre-Sales Engineer - Technical Services Engineer - cloud/SaaS
My client is looking for an individual to provide pre-sales support to sales colleagues throughout engagements with prospects, and to design and deploy solutions in customer environments. The company is a leader in their field and they are growing at a rapid rate, so the chosen candidate will be joining at an exciting time in the business.
Candidate Profile:
- A minimum three year track record of progression in a similar pre-sales role in software (cloud/SaaS preferred) company is essential
- Degree/masters in a technical subject (Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, etc) or related subjects to supplement excellent achievement at both A-level and GCSE
- A demonstrable aptitude for understanding IT systems and highly technical solutions. In-depth knowledge of email concepts, security and associated services are a real advantage
- An ability to map technical solutions to customer needs/business objectives
- Ability to network at a technical level
- Exposure to IT security/encryption solutions (desired but not essential)
- Driving licence (over 12 months)
Key Responsibilities:
- attending pre-sales client meetings and presentations at our largest prospects with Business Development Managers and other sales colleagues
- determining the technical scope of opportunities and developing formal technical proposals
- identifying client requirements: (technical requirements, client infrastructure, configuration, and requirements), technical design (including solution configurations and diagrams) and planning phases of the sales cycle
- providing pre and post-sales support for new and existing customers
- demonstrating products and 3rd Party Solutions in front of prospects
- working with sales colleagues to provide responses for technical RFI/RFP questions
- building, deploying and managing Proof Of Concept product evaluations and pilot projects
- deploying and configuring purchased solutions in customer environments
In addition, Technical Services Engineers handle technical presentations at trade shows and conferences, and are expected to maintain an in-depth level of technical and industry knowledge through ongoing training, seminars and certifications.
