Technical Architect - Environment Architect - Oracle - SQL - EMC Documentum - VMware - Tomcat - Pega

The Environment Architect works to ensure that technical environments are fit for purpose. They work with the Environment Services Project Manager to ensure that delivery plans are sufficiently detailed, includes appropriate governance activities and is technically deliverable. They identify the wider technical teams involved in delivery of the plan and provide that technical interface.

Task Description

• Conducts technical reviews of proposal documents; Provides technical sign-off and approval of Development, Test, Clone and Live D&CG(s) and other technical artefacts
• Promotes the use of reference architectures, recommends re-use of existing solutions as appropriate and promotes the use of patterns and stacks
• Identifies areas of risk which would require a proof of concept to prove suitability for implementation and provides support through proof of concept activities
• Provides technical guidance to the environment delivery team; Ensures design complies with Technology Policy
• Identifies monitoring requirements
• Communicates environment requirements to relevant environment delivery teams
• Uses the risk management process to escalate risks and issues
• Acts as technical environment point of contact and provides architectural support and escalation for the resolution of environment related technical issues
• Acts as escalation point for the Implementation Management Group for environment issues
• Provides guidance and support in the development of the Live Service Manual (LSM);
• Assists in the classification, prioritisation, impact & escalation of problems; Attends Problem Review Forums (PRF) where appropriate

• Databases including Oracle and SQL server
• EMC Documentum technology including Webtop, Taskspace, Captiva and Brava
• VMware, application Servers incl Weblogic
• Tomcat and JBoss, Java
• Operating systems including Windows and Unix/Linux
• Pega
• A broad knowledge of IT and deep, demonstrable expertise in at least one technology
• Agile methodology expertise
