Procurement Specialist - IT Purchasing Manager

We are looking for someone with IT Consultancy experience who has knowledge and experience of negotiating and setting up IT consultancy agreements with suppliers on a statement of work basis both through fixed pricing and time and materials.

The candidate will need to have previous experience of negotiating IT Consultancy agreements, SOW's and be familiar with T&M Rate negotiations.

Role requirements

  • Perform Strategic Supplier management review of Consultancy Category utilising management information/reports on spend and transactions
  • Assisting Regional Category Manager to define local purchasing strategies within the Consultancy Category and ensure compliance to achieve TCO savings, risk management and value creation inside UK&I
  • Develop good working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure early involvement in defining requirements, agreeing the procurement route and supplier negotiations
  • Supplier management of appointed preferred suppliers, creating and managing a preferred supplier list for the Consultancy Category, including ownership of all commercial and contract aspects of supplier management, and ensure compliance with contracted services (where required)
  • Actively collaborate with Global Purchasing and UK&I Procurement team to identify any synergies and/or additional savings opportunities to maximise value across the wider ERPSTN Category

  1. Setting up agreements with IT companies on both a deliverables and T&M basis
  2. Creation of back to back agreements with suppliers
  3. Identifying areas within the business where quick procurement wins can be achieved.
  4. Understanding the construct of cost savings agreements in the correct business context ie does the agreement work better with a rebate agreement or margin reduction etc.
  5. Strategic review of suppliers and appropriate reduction in suppliers to delivery both strategic and financial advantage to the Business.
  6. Stakeholder Management of senior business sponsors, with proven ability to articulate new ideas which may meet with resistance. Ability to change the status quo
  7. Have been effective in bringing about cultural change in the way in which the business view procurement.
  8. Must be able to work proactively to identify areas of improvement and produce ideas towards how to approach/implement changes etc.

Mandatory to the role is the experience of negotiating contracts with IT companies whether that be large consultancies or small bespoke niche suppliers (they need to have covered both)
